Lot's of pieces to this year's draft, so this doubles as an announcement. So please read:
The Outback Cyclone Pre-Draft Component
We're working on assembling a decent starting team for Cyclone right now. The draft is a little slow to begin because of this, but we're getting there.
Draft Component
Our "2 fighters per weightclass" guideline is still working really well (both publicly, and for a bunch of the behind-the-scenes/matchmaking stuff that no one ever sees). I'd like to stick with that, at least for 1 more season, giving everyone's primary and secondary fighters in each weightclass a shot at developing before padding our depth. So I think this draft we will do the points as usual, and allow swaps for new fighters, as long as you are swapping for someone of the same weightclass.
If this causes you rage, comment below. If enough people are enraged by sticking with the "2-per" rule for one more season, I'll reconsider. But get your feedback in RIGHT NOW. Once the GP is over and Cyclone's team situation is settled, whatever is posted here is what we are going with.
So now, the draft structure.
- For each pick, you can select points, or you can swap one of your current fighters for another fighter from this list, of the same weightclass.
- 1st overall pick is worth 3 points, every other first round pick is worth 2 points, every second round pick is worth 1 point.
- If you are not making a swap, and only taking points, you can draft any time (ideally right now)
