Agreed. Randomized, let the program pick, give teams a few days upon announcement to have a chance to upgrade the selected fighters. Regardless of how odd the matchups could be, if teams have a chance, I think that's fine.
Hell, you could even do something like this:
Rocketmen matches against Texas
Randomizer selects 4 or 5 match-ups.
Rocketman selects, Texas selects, randomizer for third match-up.
Teams that don't select a fight in time are auto'd.
That gives a fair selection process for each team.

The program's randomization doesn't work like that. When prepping the card for sim, you select a fighter and choose "Add to fight and find opponent", then it creates the match-up. Basically what that means is we can have half a card posted, like this:  The rest is established night of sim. So it remains a mystery until after the fight. People could still put forth fighters they wanted to have fight mystery opponents, and go from there. As long as it remains optional and never becomes one of those Sandman chasing people down things, since that is what we are trying to avoid at this point. |

We did (sometimes) enjoy the fights the "fight opponent" feature in the sim program created. Randomizer does leave things very open to mismatches or "these guys JUST fought" things, but otherwise I do enjoy that and it would be something to do with SS rather than ditching it entirely. It's fine as long as it actually means something. It's like the GP starting to mean less & less over time too. Sure, you win the championship, but I've basically boycotted the GP now too cuz it got ridiculous, especially with teams able to pick who they go against. It just defeats the purpose when you can manipulate that. Survivor Series became more interesting than the GP, TBH. |

COuld have sworn I replied to this when it was posted, but apparently not. Sorry about that. especially with teams able to pick who they go against. We dropped this after your objections, and didn't do the pick opponents thing last GP.  |
