B.J. Penn defends the Welterweight title!
This was a really good, interesting fight. Especially early on. GSP was getting takedowns and just cutting through Penn's elite takedown D, and doing okay damage. Momentum-wise, he was dominating the early stages. He is also well-developed, so even though he was doing mad-work, he was not really losing a ton of stamina. Like, he was, but nothing that would make him a punching bag later in the fight. But BJ fought back found round 4-5ish? And started landing some hard shots, and getting back into the fight. The damage took GSP off of his game, and he was no longer landing the takedowns, and struggled more, until BJ eventually locked in the win.
