Rory MacDonald Speaks Again...

ManMMA.com recently caught up with Rory MacDonald outside Phoenix FC Headquarters to get some answers, particularly on the challenge from Khabib Nurmagomedov after his victory over Diego Sanchez at ManMMA 55.

ManMMA.com: Rory... Just a few quick questions...

Rory MacDonald: Sure. What's up?

ManMMA.com: First off, how is the training going for your title match against BJ Penn?

Rory MacDonald: Business as usual. I said I would get to this point, and I have. BJ and the Bear was put on notice by the Canadian Psycho months ago, and here I am. Ready to take my title. It's too bad Fitchy didn't get his rightful shot at BJ cuz some bureaucrat idiot thought it'd be better to make him keep jumping through hoops and do #1C fight against Usman after he got ducked by Georges, but the Welterweight division has been one big clusterfuck because of that. I'm glad it's finally resolved, but Fitch should've gotten his shot at BJ. It's bullshit that he had to face Usman when Georges got a freebie.

ManMMA.com: Yes, but if you beat Penn, would you give Fitch a shot?

Rory MacDonald: If they allow me to, absolutely. Jonny earned that shit and got robbed of it. But my focus is on BJ right now. We can cross that bridge when it comes.

ManMMA.com: And what about Khabib?

Rory MacDonald: Khabib who?

ManMMA.com: Nurmag...

Rory MacDonald: Yeah, yeah... Alphabet. Why would I give a shit about him now?

ManMMA.com: Well, he did challenge you for a fight at Zenith if you don't beat Penn for the title.

Rory MacDonald: Good for him. He's still trying to make himself relevant by weaseling his way into shit, just like the fight with Diego... And, in the process, he's allowing Rory MacDonald to live rent free in his head when, to use Kruze's term, I really don't give two shits and a popcorn fart about him or what he does right now. My focus is beating BJ Penn and winning the ManMMA Welterweight title. That's it. Captain Alphabet can piss off for now.

ManMMA.com: So are you turning down his challenge?

Rory MacDonald: Seriously? After what I just said, that's your fucking question? Again, my focus is BJ Penn, the actual champion, not some pissant named Khabib that has never been, but thinks he is cuz he's decided to take the easy way and bait guys into fights he has no business in. But, we're both in the Welterweight division, I'm sure our paths will cross at some point. As I've always said, I'll fight anyone. My focus is on becoming champion, not some wannabe looking for a handout. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have dinner reservations.

Rory gets into a car and drives off, making it pretty clear that he's only got time for training, the championship, and, apparently, dinner.
