Usman may have won this one in the 5th. He had done a bit more damage heading into the final round, but Khabib had A LOT of ground control built up at that point, so this was a big round. But he did YUGE damage in 5, and won that final round so clearly it kinda left little doubt in the eyes of the judges (again, because we score a whole fight here, not just round-by-round). Even then, he still had done a bit more damage, so maybe he would have taken it anyway? But still. Ground control is huge in the judges eyes, so mayhaps not.
