Are both of the main fights not spoiler bouts? Not right now. Because of how the numbers unfold in the next fight, it works like this: If Coleman wins, he advances and has a shot to be champion. If Cormier wins, neither advances. If Glover wins, he advances, and has a shot to be champion. But if Anderson wins, he advances, but does NOT have a shot to become champion. He will fight some other undefeated fighter in what will be a spoiler bout (with the same terms Cormier is fighting under above. This is because we have 3 guys needing opponents at MW, but we don't technically need someone at HW (there are already 4 undefeated guys there ready to rumble). So if Coleman wins, I have problem-solving to do (the good kind). But if Cormier and Texiera both win, all my "problems" are solved up quite cleanly. Hope that clears things up. If not, I can try to make a visual bracket guide so you can see what the shit I am talking about, because it is all quite the messy mess. But in a good way  |
