I'm really sorry once again for the long delay between sims.
I'm going to be working pretty hard to get a sim in Friday night.
A bunch of small to medium sized dramas came up that are just settling now. I never know if you guys want to be filled in on my insignificant ongoing or recent dramas, or if it just sounds like the simmer whining and making excuses for not getting their work done. (Short version: everything is fine, none of it is life-or-death kind of drama). If you want to post your feelings on whether you want reasons for extended sim delays posted, let me know in this thread. My feelings won't be hurt if you are like, "Nah, bro, just shut up and sim, or let us know when there will be one!", nor will I feel you are being nosey or anything if you are like, "I like tea. SPILL, M'FUCKER!" etc.
Thank you guys for still being here, and always having such saint-like patience with these unannounced delays. If you guys weren't you guys, this site would have died 10 years ago.
Thank you!

I don't know if this is at all helpful, but if there's a specific night each week that you have an easier time dedicating the time to do it, I wouldn't be opposed to having just a "sim night" so we get a card per week. I also don't know how people feel about this either, but I'll just pitch an idea:
2 sims per week.
1 PPV Night 1 Fight Night
Change the season requirements to like 30 cards before we hit a Zenith, instead of 20.
PPV Night:
This is the main sim you've been doing about every 7-10 days. We know the big fight is coming, the champ fights are on this card and some tournament fights. Drop a bunch of the low-card fights to make the full card more manageable and less time consuming.
Fight Night:
A small card - 5-10 fights tops, with a main event. Helps flesh out team's requirements on fighters that are underperforming without crowding the PPV cards.
This might help shrink the overall "big sim" and instead takes the season and puts it into pieces.
It also gives active members more opportunities to win a predictor point, but if we embrace a small fight night card, the predictor basically needs to get it completely right to earn a point.
If you hate the idea of doing more cards, you could always do the card over 2 sims. I can update fight history with "main card" and "fight night" under each event, as if it were 1 event over 2 nights.
Just a thought. Feel free to discard.

I think this idea is cool on paper, and I like it. But in practice, it would change nothing, possibly even make things slower or harder. The major steps to a sim are: 1) Make the card. 2) Set up the card 3) Sim the card 4) update the Master roster document Set-up time for steps 1 and 2 take a bit more time than they should. But once the set up time is done, the rest of the task is quite quick. So because steps 1, 2, and 4 take almost the same amount of time whether we sim 5 fights or 20 fights, smaller events don't actually save time in the long run because of the "value" from that initial time-investment in the set up. Think of it like shipping fees of $10 for the first item, then $1 for every extra item. I can do one big shipment of 20 items for $29, or I can do 2 shipments of 15 items then 5 items, for $24, plus $14. Though the 5 item shipment is cheaper than the big shippment, overall collectively its more. That's also why I started making the cards much bigger this season/era than early last season. We get more bang for our buck both in terms of time, and in terms of how much we get simmed in a season. Having male-only and female-only cards might save time and speed things up a tiny bit, so I might look into that, though I like the variety we have now. And we might only be talking about 5 mins of savings per card, so likely not even worth it with the loss of variety we have. I think Era 1 we found when we did that since only some people are highly invested in their female fighters people tended to not care as much about the female cards (or since so many on our site now are so badly under-developed, they might just be 20 fights of boring stamina-decisions). WHO KNOWS? I DO NOT KNOW!!! Regarding a schedule in general, I would really like to be able to do one like we did in the past. But since some steps in the major steps list are done by someone else, sometimes I end up waiting for that person (or they wait for me) and when our schedules aren't in sync, it might mean a card goes up a few hours before it is scheduled to be simmed, or something like that. And i really want people to have time to predict, and get upgrades in and stuff. This all being said, I will talk to that person and see if we actually can work out a weekly schedule, because it would be very beneficial in a lot of ways. Not that it would have done anything in this specific instance, because Life, but what can ya do in those cases. At least I have a phone now.
