Lot's of pieces to this year's draft, so this doubles as an announcement. So please read:
SuperFight Component
Typically, we would draft the weightclass and fighters for the SuperFight belt here. But since all of our title pictures are new and fresh, I think I want to keep all avenues of contendership clear and open. Plus we didn't really have a clear consensus in the discussion. So for Season 2 we will continue to hold off on the SuperFight Championship, and bring that in in Season 3 or Season 4.
The Phoenix FC Pre-Draft Component
Since Phoenix took over someone else's team and doesn't want some of those people, I'm giving him a piece of time to do whatever swaps he wants to do with his team. This will be done before the actual draft, and any fighters he drops can be drafted in the draft. So Phoenix FC, you can post whatever roster swap changes you want to make here, in the draft thread, starting now.
Draft Component
Right now, we have a firm "2 fighters per weightclass" guideline in place, and I think it's working really well (both publicly, and for a bunch of the behind-the-scenes/matchmaking stuff that no one ever sees). I'd like to stick with that, at least for 1 more season, giving everyone's primary and secondary fighters in each weightclass a shot at developing before padding our depth. So I think this draft we will do the points as usual, and allow swaps for new fighters, as long as you are swapping for someone of the same weightclass.
If this causes you rage, comment below. If enough people are enraged by sticking with the "2-per" rule for one more season, I'll reconsider. But get your feedback in RIGHT NOW. Once the Grand Prix is over, whatever is posted here is what we are going with.
So now, the draft structure.
- For each pick, you can select a point, or you can swap one of your current fighters for another fighter from this list, of the same weightclass.
- 1st overall pick is worth 2 points, every other pick is worth 1 point.
- If you are not making a swap, and only taking points, you can draft any time (ideally right now)
