Haha, I was kidding. My entire family is hardcore religious, but I feel like that kind of pushed me away from religion. I WANT to believe that there is a God and Heaven exists, but I literally don't know if deep down I actually believe or if it's just me not wanting to think about Death really just being the end. I have a huge death phobia, nothing drives my anxiety through the roof like thinking about dying, and yet it's guaranteed. I was like you, in fact I told my family straight up that I didn’t believe in God and on that day is when I got into my first car accident. The rosary I had in my car broke, Jesus cut in half and sliced my finger, I kid you not lol. From there I started going to church again and was believing. Then shut kept happening and when I was driving home from work I started doubting again and boom a larger car accident where my airbag went off, cuts and bruises across my body. From that point on I’ve had full faith but I don’t let others dictate to me what I should be doing with my faith. That has always been a big thing for me. If I'm going to believe in God, I want to have my own relationship with him. Going to church and practicing with the people I knew to be the most judgmental people was a level of uncomfortable I did not want to continue putting myself through. Still though, I'm very religiously confused. I want to believe in reincarnation.

I believe in a form of reincarnation but I also believe in heaven. I just don’t think you stay in heaven. I also believe that they are an unlimited amount of worlds in our universe so after you die you go to heaven and then restart, that’s why we’ve heard of stories of people that are babies but remember a past life but not too often.

It'd be interesting if it was a choice. Reincarnate and forget the loved ones of this life, or go to heaven and stay there. What would you guys pick?

I tend to sit in the middle of Jewish and Christian viewpoints, mixed with "I don't have the right to dictate what other people think". My faith is my faith - I'm tired of seeing people use their fucking beliefs as a reason to hurt and kill other people. Between the in-fighting in the states, the constant battles in the West Papua/Papua New Guinea area (I have several friends from there so it's a big thing for me), and everywhere else in the world, it's just painful to see.
Not to mention how Australia's falling apart with the housing crisis being as bad as it is, wildfires/floods happening every other day, etc it's just not a great world right now - last thing we need is war over what different people believe

Money is the goal, money = less stress, and greater opportunity to provide for your family. Money is definitely not everything, but it makes life better. As sad as that is.

As somebody with money trust me, money doesn’t equal less stress unless you’re in the top 1% where you have people working below you and you don’t have to lift a finger. The more money you make means the more work you have/the more responsibilities you have. It may lower the stress of it you’ll be able to cover your bills for the month but your work stress will take over. I will never have to worry about money but I work non stop, even while I’m in Israel supposedly on vacation I’ve been working a ton.

I'm not necessarily saying I want to be rich or even make 100k a year. I'm comfortable right now, I just need to keep moving up. It's all about finding the right work-life balance. I'll work harder for more money, but my time is still more valuable to me. So I'm not going to go and work where I'm always on call, but I will go work harder to make more money.

That work harder comes with sacrifice mate. I can tell you as a business owner the guys that get paid and grow up the ladder are the guys that stay past the typical hours. They show the drive that most don’t and are rewarded for it.

They show the drive that most don’t and are rewarded for it. You'll probably see it soon, but that's shifting culture-wise here. "Quiet quitting" is starting to become a major thing - people aren't willing to give up their lives anymore. Covid changed that. It's gonna get to a point where nobody's willing to stay late or work outside of their job description because they value their lives - they work to live, not the other way around. Personally, I spent 60 hours a week at my old job, volunteering for weekend shifts, staying late when I didn't need to, and I got jack shit - passed up for those with families and kids because it was a "family oriented company". I left there, came to my current job, worked my ass off learning the convoluted shipping system, got myself to be probably the second-most knowledgeable person in regards to logistics for this entire company (hat tip to our inventory guy on probably topping me on that)... and they hired an outsider with barely any logistics knowledge to be the supply chain manager - a role I was passed up for simply because I didn't go to uni. It's not working hard that gets you promoted anymore. It's kissing the right person's ass 95% of the time that gets you there. Plain and simple. I worked my ass off for 6 years between jobs and got passed up probably 20 times for promotion for people with lesser resumes and experiences, simply because they kissed the right ass.
