I've just started watching Ken Burns' "The US and the Holocaust" and it's interesting watching that fresh off of this conversation. But still very much reinforces the difference between the state of Israel and the Jewish people themselves, especially the non Israeli Jewish populations.

Ken Burns documentary programs are so damned good.
